A
♣ When stimulated, create and express antibodies (aka immunoglobins, Igs) that have a high affinity for the antigen expressed by the stimulating T cell
♣ Igs have a very specific structure
• They utilize this specificity to aid in targeted destruction of pathogens
♣ Like T cells, B cells can also stimulate the formation of memory (B?) cells
♣ Begin development in the bone marrow
• They mature there and do not travel to other parts of the body
