B cell and immunoglobulin deficiency Flashcards
clinicall leads to
susceptibility to recurrent infections, esp LRTIs
selective immunoglobulin A deficiency
low IgA
normal IgG and IgM
mild immunodeficiency
tendency to recurrent mucous membrane infections and autoimmune conditions
common variable immunodeficiency
low IgF and IgA
+/- deficient in IgM
genetic mutation in genes coding for B cells
common variable immunodeficiency - leads to
recurrent RTIs, leading to chronic lung disease
unable to develop immunity to infection or vaccination
prone to immune disorders, and cancers e.g. NH-lymphoma
common variable immunodeficiency Mx
regular immunoglobulin infusions
treat infections and complications as they occur
X linked agammaglobulinaemia
abnormal B cell development
deficiency in classes of immunoglobulins
causes similar issued to CVID
X linked agammaglobulinaemia - inheritence pattern
x-linked recessive condition
