Axilla Flashcards
Which arteries originate from axillary artery?
From first margin:superior thoracic,
Second margin:thoraco acromial,lateral thoracic
Third margin:,subscapular, anterior and posterior circumflex humeral
Superior thoracic artery feeds …
Medial and anterior walls of axilla
Thoracoacromial artery?
4 branches:deltoid,pectoral,clavicular,acromial
Deltoid brach goes to clavipectoral triangle and moves with cephalic vein
Pectoral branch feeds breast
Lateral pectoral artery ?
Feeds breast and anterior and medial wall of axilla
Subscapular artery?
The main artery that feeds posterior wall of axilla
Divides into two branches :
Circumflex scapular:which gives anastomoses with suprascapular artery and posterior scapular artery
Thoracodorsal
anterior and posterior circumflex humeral artery?
Anterior:feeds glenohumeral joint and head of humerus
Posterior:feeds glenohumeral and near places
Both of them connect to each other
Axillary vein?
Same branches as axillary artery plus cephalic vein and brachial veins
Different parts of brachial plexus?
Roots,trunks,divisions,cords
Brachial plexus proximal location?
At proximal portion it is behind subclavian(between anterior and middle scalen muscle ) but after passing through neck triangle it covers back and superior of subclavian
Axillary lymph nodes receive lymph from which parts?
Superior part of back and shoulder and inferior prt of neck and antrolateral part of abdomen and thoracic
Lymph nodes of axilla?
- humeral nodes(lateral)
- pectoral nodes(medial)
- subscapular nodes
- central nodes
- apical nodes
Arm transverse cut arts?
Anterior compartment
Podterior compartment
Inter musular septum(lateral and medial) they connect to deep fascia surrounding arm
Cross section of body of humerus?
Borders:Anterior border Medial border Lateral border Surface:antrolateral Antromedial Posterior
What is the land mark of posterior surface of humerus?
- A line which stars from surgical neck and goes to deltoid tuberosity (lateral head of triceps brachii attaches to it)
- radial groove :radial nerve and deep brachial artery goes through
Lateral epicondyl and medial?
Medial is bigger and has a oval shaped fossa on it and Muscles of anterior compartments attach to this part
Muscles of posterior attach to lateral epicondyl and lateral epicondyl crest
