What is resiliency?
It is the ability to keep working and providing a service in the vent of a failure. Scaling and Resilience are the second pillars of the well-architected framework.
If an IAM region fails, can you still interact with AWS IAM?
IAM is a global service, you may not be able to interact with resources in the failed region but you will be able to interact with services in other regions.
What is an AZ?
It is a single fault domain, AWS does not say it is a DC, but when we look at regions like Ireland there are three AZz and they are showing as in cork, Galway and Dublin.
Is a snapshot replicated across AZs?
A snapshot is stored to S2 and as such has three replicas stored across three or more AZs
Is s3 a regional or global service?
It is a global service but the data is stored only in a single region.
Where does Route53 operate from in AWS?
The edge locations.
Where do ELBs operate from, regions, AZ’s, global?
A single region.
Are VPC’s a region or global services?
A region
Is a NAT GW an AZ, Region or Global services?
It is deployed in a single AZ’s
Is auto scaling groups a region, az or global services>
