A
Noxious Stimuli such as full bladder or fecal impaction

Why is Autonomic Dysreflexia so serious?
A
Life-threatening due to clients becoming HYPERTENSIVE

S&S of Autonomic Dysreflexia?
A
- Increase BP
- Headache
- Bradycardia
- blurred vision
- Diaphoresis

What should be done during an episode?
A
- Place in High Fowler’s
2. Check for bladder distention
3. Loosen restrictive clothing

What is the treatment?
A
Removal of the stimuli
- Patients’ needs to void
- Bowel movement
