Assoc with Coeliac Disease. Chronic, very itchy skin rash made up of bumps and blisters.
The exact cause of dermatitis herpetiformis isn’t known. Genetics, gluten sensitivity and disorders in which the immune system attacks healthy cells (auto-immune disorders) may play a role.
The main symptom is an off-and-on skin rash.
Antibiotics and a gluten-free diet are treatments.
