Operations at Foreign Embassies, Consulates, Missions, Ambassadorial residence and PRIVATE residence where Diplomats have legal residence (apt. or house)
- includes FAMILY AND STAFF
- DIPLOMATS HAVE DEPT OF STATE ID CARDS/consults DO NOT , BUT THEY ARE TREATED AS DIPLOMATS
Units should enter all EMBASSIES, CONSULATES , MISSION INTO CIDS.
-Officers should consider use of LANGUAGE INTERPRETIVE SERVICES
- Personnel may REFUSE PERMISSION FOR MEMBER TO ENTER
- members should expect delays
Officer shall explain the importance of entry and that the fire or emergency may worsen..attempt to negotiate the LADDER COMPANY ENTRY TEAM to enter and investigate , unless IC feel this will endanger members.
Members should NOT OPERATE ALONE
- If fire is suspected or verified stretch a handline to front of the building and /or bring rollups
- if entry is denied do not cause incident and do not enter
- PROTECT EXPOSURES AND SET UP TOWER LADDER IN FRONT OF BUILDING
-Embassy personnel may refuse to let RELIEF COMPANIES in and they may also refuse to allow overhauling..do not argue , if asked to leave do so
Engine stretch line compatible with OCCUPANCY and fire conditions
LADDER:
- position TL IN FRONT OF BUILDING
- position aerial and portable ladders for possible rescue
- if embassy personnel refuse expanding searches on upper and lower floors, notify the IC
IC;
- as soon as known, notify dispatcher that emergency ir fire is in Foreign embassy
- all progress/denial should be relayed to dispatch
- EXPECT STORAGE OF AMMUNITION AND EXPLOSIVES , IF EXPLOSIVES AND AMMUNITION INVOLVED , EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY AND NOIFY NYPD/BFI
- request PD LIASON to respond
- document all actions/contact
- saving life is highest priority, if occupants refuse to leave, we cannot force them to leave
