Persuasive Communication:
Persuader: Person attempting the change
Receiver: Person whose attitude is trying to be changed
Message: Quality of message the persuader is giving
Cognitive Dissonance Theory:
Focuses on the cognitive component
Relates to Triadic Model
Individuals have contradictory views -> creates attitude
What is the example for Cognitive Dissonance Theory?

Doesn’t like doing it
Coach tells him it improves aerobic endurance
Challenges belief -> changes attitude

Attitudes have 3 elements:
Cognitive (What we know)
Affective (How we feel)
Behavioural (How we act)
