Why is ATP a good energy store?
A
provides energy for reactions, soluble, can’t cross plasma membrane, can’t be stored, only releases small quantities of energy, single step chemical reaction to release, can be reformed

A
Can cause conformational shape change, adding a phosphate group, can lower activation energy

Conformational shape change
A
phosphate ion temporarily left at ATP binding site, causes site shape change due to change in charge distribution, phosphate is released and binding site changes back
