ATA34 Navigation Flashcards
Where Are the following Information normally presented on the EFIS system? A) DME dist B) Radio Altitude C) Numerical readout of HDG bug position D) rate of turn E) glideslope deviation F) compass sync. Annunciator
A) upper rh side ehsi B) bottom rh side eadi C) bottom lh side ehsi D) center bottom ehsi E) rh side both eadi and ehsi F) ehsi upper rh side
On the NAV annunciator panel is above each EADI there is a button named REVN. What is the function?
Uses the other sides symbol generator. The EADI and EHSI will be a copy of the other sides indication
What is the arc mode and how is it selected?
90 degree arc on the EHSI, selected on the EFSI Display Controller or wx/terr or map
What is composite mode and how is it selected?
Combines information normally found on the EADI and the EHSI on one screen, should on screen fail. Turn off the screen on the EFIS Control panel
The red slave light on the AHRS controller is ON. What is the problem?
What other indications are there?
Lost connection to the flux valve. Red flag on the EHSI
What is the function of the HDG REV button on the EFIS controller?
Selects other side HDG source (ahrs) for ehsi display
The green BASIC light on the AHRS Controller is ON. What is the problem?
Lost TAS input from the ADC
On ground: AHRS has lost TAS from r,espective DADC
Airborne: AHRS has lost TAS from both DADCs
How many power sources are there for each each AHRS computer?
Two (ESS BUS —> battery and DC GEN)
What are the indications if compass HDG from AHRS #1 differs, say 10 degrees compared with compass HDG from AHRS #2?
HDG MISMATCH. HDG in amber rh upper corner of EADI, on if mismatch more than 6 degrees, 12 degrees airborne
What is the alignment time for the AHRS computers:
- On ground
- Airborne
60 seconds
90 seconds
Copilots pitot tube feeds pitot pressure to?
The ADC 2 and RH side ASI
The pilots static line feeds static pressure to?
ADC 1, ASI
The alternate static ports normally feeds static pressure to?
STBY altimeter, static source selector and cabin pressure controller
The VWO pointer on the airspeed Indicator varies with altitude according to the following schedule:
242 to 14000 ft
Then decrease to
207 at 25000 ft
If ADC #1 fails. What are the indications the secondary effects?
RED OFF fag on the failed sides altimeter.
XPDR1 and FMS1 losses air data.
DADC fail in advisory panel.
AP to basic if captain is pilot flying. If banked the airplane will level wings.
How do you select which ADC is the master?
HSI select switch
