ATA 32 Landing Gear Flashcards
How do we operate the nose gear ground lock?
Push the mechanism, pop it out and twist it 90 clockwise
What do the three amber DOOR lights on the landing gear control panel indicate?
Indicate that the associated door remains open after landing gear has completed extension or retraction
What do the three GREEN gear lights indicate?
Gear down and locked
What is to be done when the LDG GEAR INOP caution light illuminates?
Illuminated when the gear is retracted and one door sequence valve has failed. (missmatch in door sequence)
Landing gear must not be extended by normal DWN selection. Use ALTERNATE EXTENTENSION
What will happen when we operate the guarded L/G Down Select “INHIBIT” switch, adjacent to the L/G Alternate Release Door in the flight compartment ceiling?
Operation of the Inhibit Switch disconnects power from the Down
Solenoid in the Landing Gear Selector Valve
What happens when we open the L/G Alternate Release Door?
When pulled open, landing gear hydraulic bypass valve is actuated
to connect landing gear hydraulic circuits to return (no pressure in
lines) and main landing gear release handle is exposed.
When shall we use the “Downlock Verification Switch” underneath the L/G Alternate Extension Door in the flight compartment?
If the primary downlock verification is in doubt, an additional downlock verification system provides confirmation of downlock engagement.
The landing gear locked down condition is made by transmitting a
light through holes aligned in components of the downlock
mechanism. Downlock verifications are observable without leaving
the flight compartment
What is the max nose wheel steering angle when operating the:
a) Steering control handle?
b) Pedals?
a) 60°
b) -100: 5°, -300: 7°
What about steering dureing reverse taxiing?
No turns, taxiing limited to straught-back motion
What do the “OUTBD ANTI SKID” caution tell us?
Malfunction of the inboard and outboard anti-skid control
circuits or loss of electrical power, is provided by INBD and OUTBD
ANTI-SKID caution lights
Test: 6 sec illumination on ground, 3 sec airborne (automatic test)
What do the “PARKING BRAKE” caution light tell us?
Brake is engaged (by pulling the EMERG BRAKE lever
all the way back to the detented PARK position)
