What does MATCH stand for?
A
Medium Range Anti-Submarine Torpedo Carrying Helicopter
= weapons system that enables an attack to be carried out employing aircraft to release weapons against Submarine held on sonar

A
- Medium range sonar (2016/2050)
- Radar capable of directing aircraft (Primary I Band/Secondary E-F Band or RRB)
- External and internal communications (radio/open lines)
- Organic helicopters (Merlin/Wildcat)

A
Urgent
- Aim to upset the submarines plan of action and gain upper hand
- Gain this initiative best available weapon is placed in water ASAP
- Hoped to upset submarines fire control solution causing them to take avoiding action
- Speed overrides the need for accuracy
Deliberate
- Positive destruction of submarine
- Using most effective weapon
- Meticulous execution of correct aiming rules
- Accuracy overrides speed

Describe a Dogbox
A
- An area where there is a live ASW weapon
- Initiated after completing an attack
- Radius of atleast 3,000yds centred round drop point
- Once Dogbox placed, no other ASW weapon can be fired until 8 mins (expiry time)
- No ships can enter Dogbox
