Name and define the different Air Plans
Air Plan 1
- Close search for 1 aircraft to investigate a bearing
Air Plan 2
- Close search for 1 aircraft to investigate a DATUM
Air Plan 3
- Designed for use by 1 aircraft to provide a barrier along a given line either fixed or real to force
Air Plan 4
- Used to search an area rel to force for 1 or more aircraft
Air Plan 5
- Single A/C search for an area of any size/shape
Air Plan 41
- Bearing investigation for 2 or more HELOs
Air Plan 44
- Lost contact or DATUM search with 2 or more HELOs
Air Plan 45
- When 1 or more HELOs are available to establish a barrier
Air Plan 46
- HELO search when 1 or more HELOs are to be used on random search of geographical area
What plan is used for Attack and Support for Helicopters?
- Plan Red
- 11AH, Bear = HELOs give support between S/M and main body
- 14AH/14SH, Cordon = HELOs give support in sectors around a S/M or DATUM
What plan is used for Search for Helicopters?
- Plan Black
- 1SH, Oaktree = HELOs provide a broad search front
- 14AH/14SH, Cordon = HELOs give support in sectors around S/M or DATUM
What is the purpose of Tadpoles?
- Alert units a torpedo attack is expected or is in progress, surfix letters/numbers indicates levels of risk, types of threat and reactions required.
Name the 2 types of Tadpole
Tadpole Tight = inhibits all reactions to torpedo threat tadpole not called
Tadpole Loose = cancel tadpole tight
