What are sexual scripts
combinations of thoughts, beliefs, values, amotions, and experiences both real and imagines influenced by culture, people, personal history, and te self that directly impacts our experiences of sex and sexuality.
What causes disruptions to our sexual scripts?
discrepancies.Can be a disruption in how someone views this sexuality if its in the outer circle (taboo about sex)

What is desire
psychological experience interlaces with emotion. Takes cues from arousal and interprets them. (happens after arousal)
What are the types of desire
- Spontaneous: typically what we think. Arousal cues and psychological interpretation of them happening very quickly. Light switch on.
- Magnificent: Enjoying all the planning and prep that goes into hosting a dinner party but when the night comes and youre in the thralls, youre happy to be there. May not enjoy the lead up but once your in the sexual experience youre happy you planned and prepped.
how is desire different from a drive?
- Drives are biological mechanisms that keep our body in homeostasis
- Sex isn’t a drive, you wont die from not having sex.
- We use sex to fulfill other needs (deeper and more meaningful) , connection, emotional intimacy, validation.

what kinds of treatments used for pelvic floor pain
usually composed of multidisciplinary approach to treatment:
- Physio (specialized physical therapist): adding exercises
- Medical intervention: making sure doctor is aware, maybe referring them to gynocologist
- Psychology: addressing correlated issues (trauma, etc.) support, grief
- Additional Treatment: Cannabis, TCM.
