What is Asexual Reproduction?
The reproduction process whereby one parent gives rise to a new offspring which is genetically identical to the parent, i.e. a clone.
How does Binary Fission differ from Budding?
Binary Fission divides into two daughter cells which are equal in size, whereas the resulting cells of Budding are unequal in size.
What is Fragmentation and Regeneration?
The ability that some organisms have to “grow back” after they are chopped into parts e.g. starfish and some worms
What is vegetative reproduction?
Plants forming new plants without using seeds.
What are some examples of vegetative reproduction?
Bulbs - leaf tissues e.g. onions
Stolons - stem tissues e.g. strawberries
Tubers - underground stems e.g. potatoes
