how do you diagnose ASD?
Diagnosing children involves multidisciplinary assessment by CAMHS or a local multidisciplinary autism team, including psychological evaluation, speech and language assessment, cognitive assessment, and a thorough review of the child’s behaviour in different settings (home, school, etc.).
Children, their families and schools are often sent pre-assessment questionnaires to help give a better idea of any traits the child may have of autism.
