  • The protagonist is usually high-born or someone of significance.
  • The plot builds around a downturn.
  • Unhappy endings - the tragic catastrophe.
  • The Protagonist often has some form of self-recognition near the end of the play.
  • The audience usually feels sorry and pity for the tragic catastrophe that happens.
