- used native ppts in a room with 7 confederates
- confederates agreed answer before and real ppts didn’t know
- each person had to state the comparison line and answer always obvious
- 18 trial - confederates gave wrong answer in 12

Unamity of majority
A
- 7 confederates and 1 eat person- each confederate say Wong answer apart from 1, to see if real person would conform or not - conformity dropped 5.5%
- 7 confederates and 1 real person- each confederates would say wrong answer apart from one - to who would say another wrong answer, conformity dropped to 9%

A
- when comparison of lines were similar , harder to judge so conformity increased
- more difficult the task, the greater the conformity
