What is asbestos?
Microscopic fibres that was predominately used in the 1950’ - 1980’s in buildings for insulation, flooring and roofs.

Chrysotile (white)
Amosite (brown)
Crocidolite (blue)

Why is asbestos dangerous?
When the asbestos is disturbed, fibres are released into the air and when breathed it it can causes asbestosis or asbestos related cancer.
What are the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012?
It sets outs the framework to manage and control asbestos that exists in non domestic property. This includes;
- Having an asbestos register
- Having a management plan for the asbestos
- Providing information on the presence and condition of asbestos to anyone liable to work on or disturb the asbestos
Who is responsible for managing asbestos?
Anyone who is responsible for reading and maintaining the building
- Landlord
- Tenant if the property is let

A plan which details
- Who is responsible for managing the asbestos
