What does PR (Public Relations) do?
Promote a new release or artist to the media
Generate as much publicity as possible
Negotiate with labels and the media to get album reviews and profile of the band with interviews
What does artist management do?
Works on behalf of the artist to promote their career
Runs their business affairs
Secure the best work for their clients and best fee
What does an agent do?
Negotiates with bands and artists to agree on tour dates and requirements of the tour (i.e. promote a new album).
Takes care of financial requirements and logistics.
Contact promoters and venues to pitch bands and agree on performance dates
Arrange contracts with promoters regarding pay and equipment.
What does a stylist do?
Help the artist/band create a style that reflects their genre and help them stand out.
Choose clothes, hair-style and jewellery.
Help the artist/band create an image.
