Arteries, Veins, And Nerves Flashcards
Axillary artery first part
- Begins at the first rib to the medial border of Pectoralis minor
- superior thoracic
Axillary artery second part
Runs behind Pectoralis major
- thoracoacromial
- lateral thoracic
The four divisions of the the thoracoacromial artery
- Clavicular
- deltoid
- pectoral
- acromial
Axillary artery third part
From the lateral border of Pectoralis to the inferior teres major
- subscapular
- anterior and posterior circumflex humeral
Branches of subscapular artery
The third part of the axillary artery
- circumflex scapular
- thoracodorsal
Branches of the subclavian artery
- internal thoracic
- thyrocervical trunk
Branches of the thyrocervical trunk
Suprascapular
sometimes this artery just branches right off at the subclavian artery
cephalic vein
runs the lateral and anterior side of the arm and forearm
goes up between the deltoid and pectoralis major where it enters clavipectoral triangle
median cubal vein
passes across the aspect of the elbow and helps to join the cephalic vein to the basilic vein
basilic vein
run along the medial and anterior side of the forearm and arm
Superior thoracic artery
- first part of the axillary artery
- supplies 1st and 2nd intercostal spaces and serratus anterior
lateral thoracic
- 2nd part of the axillary artery
- supplies the lateral breast
circumflex humeral artery (posterior and anterior)
- 3rd part of the axillay artery
- encircle the surgicial neck of the humerus and begin anastomosing
thoracodorsal
- branch of the scapular artery
- supplies blood to the latissimus dorsi
circummflex scapular artery
- branch of the scapular artery
- curves around the lateral side of the scapula into the infraspinatus fossa to then anastomis with the suprascapular artery
