Brachiocephalic Artery
Supplies blood to the arm, head, and neck.
Coronary Arteries
Supplies blood to the heart muscle.
Pulmonary Artery
Carry oxygen poor blood from the heart to the lungs.
What are arteries?
Arteries are the vessels that carry blood AWAY from the heart to the tissues.
Aorta
Largest artery in the body.
Aortic Arch
Form 3 major arterial branches that will subsequently supply the head, neck, and upper limbs - > Brachiocephalic, Common Carotids, Subclavian.
Descending Aorta
Runs through integrity of thoracic and abdominal cavities.
Gives rise to arterial systems that supply the lower body.
L/R External Carotid Arteries
Supplies external skull.
L/R Internal Carotid Arteries
Serves the brain with blood.
L/R Common Carotid Arteries
Serves the head & neck.
Right Subclavian
Serves neck & right upper limb.
Left Subclavian
Serves neck & left upper limb.
Circle of Willis
Anterior/Posterior Communicating Arteries (L/R)
Celiac Trunk
Serves the stomach, liver, gall bladder, spleen, and pancreas.
Mesentric Arteries
Serves small intestine.
