Arteries And Veins Flashcards
Axillary artery
Where does it start and what does it become?
It continues/begins of the subclavian artery at the lateral border of 1st rib
Ends at inferior border of teres major and becomes the brachial artery.
Brachial artery
Where does it start/continue and where does it end
It starts/continues from the axiallary at the border of teres major.
Runs medial to the humerus
Branches into the deep artery of the arm
Finishes at the cubital fossa and bifurcating into radial and ulnar arteries.
Deep artery of the arm
Where does it start/continue and where does it finish
Runs through lateral triangle of the arm, posteriorly through the radial groove of the humerus with the radial nerve.
Radial artery
Where does it continue and where does it end
It continues from the cubital fossa from the brachial artery. Its decends deep into brachioradialis, runs on the anterior surface of the radius, lateral tendon of the flexor carpi radialis.
Passes through the snuff box, pierces muscles between the 1st and 2nd metacarpals
Anastomoses with ulnar artery
Ulnar artery
Origin and destination
Cubital fossa the medial aspect. Formed from brachial artery.
Enters forearm deep into pronator teres, found lateral to flexor carpi ulnaris.
Enters palm superficial to carpal tunnel, pass through ulnar canal.
Anastomoses with radial artery
Arteries of the hand
Formes by the radial and ulnar arteries.
Palmar arches:
Deep and superficial
Doral carpal arch
Posterior to carpals
Then form tge digital arteries
