What does the azygous venous system drain blood to and from?
Drains from posterior intercostal veins to superior vena cava.
What is the main vein of the azygous system?
Azygous vein lying immediately to the right of the descending throacic aorta
Consists of:
Azygous vein - right side
Hemiazygous venous system - left side
Where do hemizygous veins drain into?
Azygous vein by crossing from left to right at levels T8/9
Which main vein does the azygous drain into?
Superior vena cava

Posterior chest wall
