A monumental arch, sometimes a combination of three arches, erected by a roman emperor in commemoration of his military exploits and are usually decorated with scenes of these deeds and relief sculpture. Usually placed at the entrance of cities in order to remind travelers and inhabitants of the strength of the Roman world
