What is the definition of an air gun?
- air rifle

What is the definition of a firearm?
Anything that can discharge a shot, bullet, missile or other projectile
- anything adapted/used to discharge
- replacement, correction or repair would be a firearm
- anything dismantled or partly
- any dangerous air gun
What is the definition of a pistol?
- designed or adapted to be held/fired with 1 hand
- includes any firearm less than 762mm
What legal requirements are placed on a firearms licence holder?
Required to produce their firearms licence if required by police
How is a firearms licence obtained?
- 16+ applies for licence
- police conduct inquiries into suitability
- applicant sits/passes test
- licence is issued
How long does a firearms licence last?
Must be renewed every 10 years
What are the firearms licence categories?
A- full licence for possession + use of conventional firearms B- pistols - member of pistol club C- collections/restricted weapons D- dealers E- military style semi-auto
What does Sec 66 of the arms act relate to?
Any person in occupation of any land/building/driver of any vehicle, on which any firearm is found is deemed to be in POSSESSION, unless they prove it is not their property or possession of someone else
