a fact that almost has to be true based on the information from the argument- to pick a CAC you have to validate the information by pointing to specific statemnts in the ARG that support the ideas in the AC

weak language is prefered. you should instictively go to the weak AC first

Point at issue steps

A
  1. ID question type (point at issue or point at agreement)
  2. analyze THE FIRST speaker for (strong weak lang, qualifiers, t v r) go to ac
  3. go to AC make a chart and see if its the speaker agrees or is netral (1 nuetral kills AC)
  4. go to the second speaker
