show how reality supports the argument

Your impact should be?
-provide more than one piece of evidence
-articulate to audience why argument is important (so what?)
What are the 6 ways to show impact?
-Number of people affected
-Irreversibility (like death)
-Posterity (affect generations)
-Morally wrong
-Immediacy (right now)
-Probability = more probable = more important, esp. when talking about the future
What are some 5 MORE ways to show impact
-bigger numbers better than small
-your one is more important (fingers vs child)
-Likelihood - speculative. Things will be better, things will be worse
-Irreversibility - no going back. Permanent change, harm
-Involuntary risk (second-hand smoking)
