Stance
Straddle shooting line: Head and left shoulder to target
Grip and Bow Arm
All fingers should be on the grip: rotate elbow of bow arm outward to avoid string slap.
Nocking
Turn bow so that knuckles of bow hand are up: Arrow should be at a 90 degree angle to string; arrow should rest on the arrow rest.
Drawing
Pull string to anchor point (chin) with the first 3 fingers on the first joint.
Ancoring
Coming to a consistent point each time will insure greater accuracy.
Relaxing
Relax all muscles before releasing : relaxed muscles work better than tense muscles.
Aiming
Your aiming point will change depending on how far or close you are to your target (the closer you are the lower you aim)
Concentraiting
Put all efforts to your target.
Releasing/Release
Letting the arrow go. Your arrow should be realsed smoothly; do not hold or jerk the string.
Rule 1
Wait for signal to begin shooting.
Rule 2
Shoot only 3 arrows
Rule 3
Step back from the shooting line after all 3 arrows are shot.
Rule 4
Wait for signal before retreiving arrows
Rule 5
Shoot at one time and only then. At another time retreive, and only retreive then.
Rule 6
If an arrow lands between 2 colors, the higher points are scored.
Rule 7
An arrow rebounding from the target, if witnessed, counts as 7 points.
Rule 8
A hanging arrow must be fixed before any more shooting can be done.
Rule 9
On the scorecard, scores are listed from highest to lowest. if one of the scores is 0, it still must be recorded.
Rule 10
Long distances are shot first, short distances are shot after.
