Is used to date wooden objects, by counting the number of rings in the wood

Shovel, pickaxe, trowel, handpick, brush, toothbrush, sieve and camera
Why do archaeologists do a survey before digging?
They do a survey so that they can decide where to start digging
What is a geophysical survey?
A geophysical survey is like an X-ray machine used to look at the soil underneath the surface
What are aerial photographs?
Aerial photographs are taken to show the size of the site and to show any features that can’t be seen from the ground
Where do artefacts go once they are found?
To a museum or university
What do archaeologists do once they find artefacts?
Make a careful record
