What does excessive body fat show?
Lack of personal discipline, detracts from military appearance, and may indicate poor health, fitness or Stamina.
At a minimum, when will personnel be weighed?
When taking an APFT or two times per year, recommended to provide the soldier with up to 7 days between APFT and weigh in.
What are the primary objectives of the body composition program?
Personnel able to meet physical demands of their duties under combat conditions and who present a trim military appearance at all times.
What personnel will have their body fat tested?
Personnel exceeding table screening weight and those identified by the commander/supervisor for special evaluation.
What amount of weight loss is considered a safely attainable goal?
3 to 8 pounds a month.
What forms are used to document test?
DA form 5500-R and 5501-R
If a soldier falls into the non-satisfactory progress category, what must the commander/supervisor inform the soldier of?
Progress is unsatisfactory and that he/she is subject to separation.
