training workers to fulfil multiple job roles within a business
what are the advantages of multi-skilling?
businesses can utilise their workforce more efficiently which reduces labour costs and increases productivity
what are the disadvantages of multi-skilling?
may require significant investment in training and development and may not be suitble for all job roles
what are the advantages of part-time and temporary working?
helps businesses to attract and retain talent, and can improve productivity, as staff can work during their most productive hours
what are the disadvantages of flexible working?
can create challenges in terms od communication and collaboration and monitoring and managing workers can be difficult

when a business processes is contracted out to another company (e.g one company hires another company)
what does outsourcing allow businesses to do?
produce products at a lower cost and maintain competitive pricing
what are the advantages of outsourcing?
may allow business to access specialised skills that may not be available in-house and can reduce labour costs
