Q

What are the basic assumptions of the humanistic approach ?

A

EVERYONE IS UNIQUE -> we are all different + should be treated that way - ideographic

FREE WILL -> we all have this, so we have the ability to choose what we do+ we are in control of our behaviour + how we progress in life

PEOPLE SHOULD BE VIEWED HOLISTICALLY -> agues that there is no point looking at one aspect of a person, as you may miss what could be affecting them. Look at they whole life

SCIENTIFIC METHODS NOT APPROPRIATE TO MEASURE BEHAVIOUR -> they are too objective + humans are subjective in thoughts
