Primordial Tertiary Prevention Efforts and Prevention Tatics
Primordial-tertiary prevention: Access to a first aid kit is an example of secondary prevention, as it is an effort that aims to slow the progression or impact of an injury or disease.
Primordial prevention efforts are those that focus on foundational risk factor prevention; primary prevention efforts are those that aim to prevent an illness or injury by altering behavior; and tertiary progression efforts are those that attempt to mitigate long-term effects or injuries.
Universal prevention is a prevention intervention tactic used on the general public in which the prevention efforts are applied to everyone.
Selective prevention is a prevention intervention tactic that is used on a select group of individuals, not the general public.
(Group prevention is not a prevention intervention tactic used in social work.)
