Appeal to tradition definition.
Usually use to oppose he jesting change. Arguer suggests that something that has served us well in the past should not be phased out. However, it may be that the old way of doing things is not appropriate current circumstances.
Appeal to authority definition
And attempt to support a conclusion on the basis that a well-known figure believe that this claim may be weakened by a celebrity if is not an expert in that particular field or if they could be other experts holding an opposing view.
Appeal to history definition
This is where evidence about what happened in the past is used to predict future performance or behaviour.
Appeal to popularity definition
Uses weight of numbers as evidence that a claim must be true or a type of behaviour acceptable.
