anit-hero

A

Characteristics opposite of the conventional hero. The protagonist is generally admired for his bravery, strength, charm, etc. while an anti-hero is typically clumsy and unskilled and has both good and bad qualities.

Band wagon

A

A persuasive technique and type of propaganda through which a writer persuades his readers, so that the majority agree with him, suggesting that since the majority agrees, the reader should too.
Ex: “Everyone is voting for David, so he must be the best candidate!”

Bandwagon function

A

The function of this technique is to make an audience think and act a way that majority follows. This occurs with tendency and beliefs when the audience sees others conforming.

Propaganda

A

It is found in mass media, advertising and in politics and literature. The primary function is to persuade the readers and mold their perceptions about a particular cause. It aims at getting response and letting them adopt a certain action, because merely securing a commitment would not be enough.
