Parody
Imitates characteristic style for comic effect or ridicule.
Personification
When animals, ideas, or inanimate objects are given human characteristics.
Exposition
introduces characters and the conflicts they face
Inciting incident
occurs after exposition and introduces central conflict
Rising Action
It follows introduction of central conflict. The characters struggle with people or situations.
Climax
The peak of the plot. It usually occurs at the end.
Falling Action
The end of the central conflict.
Resolution and Denouement
It occurs after the conflict. It is where the conflict is resolved.
Subplot
An additional minor plot that involves a secondary conflict. It may or may not affect the main plot.
