-growth effects:

- gigantism: hypersecretion of GH in kids
- acromegaly: hypersecretion of GH in adults
- pituitary dwarfism: hyposecretion of GH in kids

A
- stimulates milk production in breasts
- structurally similar to GH

Adrenocorticotropic hormone
A
- regulates endocrine activity of the cortex portion of the adrenal glands, produces corticosteroids
- functions: regulates BP, immune system and inflammation, and metabolic activity

Thyroid-stimulating hormone
A
-regulates development and hormone release of the thyroid gland

Gonadotropins (FSH and LH)
A
- FSH: stimulates follicle development in females, sperm development in males
- LH: triggers ovulation and stimulates formation of corpus luteum in women, and testosterone production in men
