RTS effectiveness of SD Gilroy 2003
A
Followed up 42 people who had SD for spider phobias in 3 45 mins sessions.
At both 3 months and 33 months after treatment the group was less fearful than the control group that didn’t use SD
Reassociating a phobia with relaxation through SD is effective

Requires motivation and committment
A
Must attend sessions over a period of time and be exposed to anxiety filled situation which would deter patients.
If patient stop going therapy then the therapy would be ineffective compare to drug therapy which requires little motivation to work.
