oseltamivir (tamiflu)

keeps flu. virus from multiplying
treatment of acute uncomplicated influenzas A and B in pts 2 weeks of age and older who have been asymptomatic for no more than 2 days
dizziness, insomnia, nausea, orthostatic hypotension, urinary retention
can be taken w or w/o food
take twice a day for 5 days
finish full course
assess for decreased flu symptoms

acyclovir
A
inhibits DNA replication
herpes sinmplex, varicella zoster, herpes zoster
N/V headache
will not cure herpes you can still transmit the disease while on this medication
dec of the lesion after med and s&s of herpes
