Contraindications to ACEIs/ARBs
Pregnancy, hyperkalaemia, bilateral renal artery stenosis
AEs of ACEIs/ARBs
Cough, hypotension, hyperkalaemia, renal impairment (triple whammy), angioedema
Contraindications to CCBs
Heart failure, 2nd/3rd degree heart block
AEs of CCBs
Heart block, peripheral oedema, headache, dizziness, gum hyperplasia, constipation, GORD
Contraindications to thiazides
Gout, (pregnancy), (glucose intolerance)
AEs of thiazides
Hypokalaemia, metabolic acidosis, hypovolaemia, hyponatraemia, hyperglycaemia, hypercholesterolaemia, hyperuricaemia
Contraindications to BBs
Asthma, heart block, (COPD), (glucose intolerance), (athletes/physically active)
AEs of BBs
Exercise intolerance, diarrhoea, bronchoconstriction, cold extremities, bradycardia, heart failure, heart block, alopecia, hallucinations, insomnia, vivid dreams, nightmares, sexual dysfunction
