Antigens and Antibodies Flashcards
1
Q
MHC/HLA location
A
chromsome 6
Type 1 made from A,B,C alleles
Type 2 made from DP,DQ, DR alleles
2
Q
Class I MHC/HLA (intracellular)
A
- present to antigen CD8+ T cells (CD8 binds the alpha3 domain)
- NK cells use it to determine if cell is self
- binds peptides 8-10 AA
- expressed on all nucleated cells
3
Q
Class I MHC/HLA formation
A
- Production of proteins in the cytosol
- Proteins become Ubiquinated
- Proteolytic degradation of proteins
- transport of peptides from cytocol to ER
- TAP holds peptides in place and Tapasin holds Class I MHC chain
- peptide moves into peptide groove and a vesicle is broken off the golgi
- Suface expression of peptide-class I complexes
4
Q
MHC class II (extracellular pathogens)
A
- present antigen to CD4+ cells (CD4 binds Beta2 domain)
- Only on APCs
5
Q
Dendritic cells
A
- Pick up Ag in periphery and take it to a LN
- Use CCR7 to attach and travel
- upregulate CD40
- upregulate CD80=B7
- can present to both CD4 and CD8 T cells
- naive T cells principle function
6
Q
Rheumatic fever
A
HLA-DR4
7
Q
Sjogren’s syndrome
A
HLA-DR3
8
Q
T1 DM
A
HLA-DQw8
9
Q
Psoriasis
A
HLA-B3
