Antigen Presenting Flashcards
What is antigen presenting?
Display of peptides bound to membrane proteins (MHC)
Why is antigen presentation necessary?
Specific recognition and activation
=> to function in immune response
How does APC works?
APC engulf pathogens by phagocytosis
-> process antigens from pathogen into short peptides
-> peptides bind to MHC protein inside WR
=> protein-MHC complex
->as a vesicles, transport to CSM of APC
=> antigens ready for presentation to native Tcells
What happen after activation of native T cells?
-clonal expansion;
-differentiation into effector T cells
=> function in adaptive immune response
When will clonal expansion occurs?
Single cell stimulated to undergo proliferation;
Px large no of genetically identical Daughter cells
