Unfractionated:
IV, short duration of action, Activates antithrombin III, inhibits thrombin, factors Xa, IXa, Xia and XIIa
Monitor with APTT
LMWH: sub cut, long action, activates anihrombin III, inhibits factor Xa, monitor with anti-factor Xa. less SE
