Q

what is the difference between the variable region and constant

A

constant region is the same in all antibodies, same amino acid sequence

variable- different in every antibody as that region needs to be specific to an antigen.

Q

what does agglutinin do

A

antibody binds to two pathogens at a time, when many antibodies do this they can clump together making it easy for the pathogens to be engulfed by phagocytes.

Q

what are opsonin

A

antibodies which bind to pathogen antigens and act for a binding site for phagocytes, for easy binding
