A
  1. Doctors and visitors wash hands before & after visiting patient
  2. Equipment and surfaces sterile and disinfected after use
  3. People with HAIs moved to isolation ward so they are less likely to transmit the infection to other patients

How is antibiotic-resistance prevented/reduced?

A
  1. Doctors should not over-prescribe antibiotics (don’t prescribe them for minor bacterial infections or viral infections)
  2. Doctors shouldn’t prescribe them in order to prevent infection
  3. Patients should finish the whole course of antibiotics to prevent any resistant strains growing
