Contraindications of Antianxiety
combination with CNS depressants, pregnancy and lactation, glaucoma, shock, coma
Precautions of Antianxiety
elderly, renal/hepatic dysfunction, drug abuse, depression or suicidal
Antianxiety Indications
anxiety disorders, symptoms of anxiety, Acute ETOH withdrawal, skeletal muscle spasms, convulsive disorders, status epilepticus, preoperative sedation
only anxiolytic/antianxiety med that takes 3-4 weeks for effectiveness (other meds usually 1 hour)
Buspirone (buspar)
