Mechanism of ganglionic blockade

A

Blocks the action of nicotine on ganglionic receptors
Prevents reflex activity
The observed effect of the blockade is the OPPOSITE of the predominant division

Ex: GI (parasympathetic dominant) effect: DECREASED MOTILITY AND GI SECRETION
