Distal attachment of Flexor Digitorum Longus
Distal to the MTP joint, the tendons pass through their respective fibrous sheaths formed by the Flexor Digitorum Brevis muscle, to attach to the plantar surface of the base of the distal phalanx of the appropriate digit (toes 2-5)
Proximal attachment Flexor Digitorum Longus
Medial part of posterior aspect of tibia, from inferior to the Soleal line to within 8cm of the lower extremity of the bone.
Nerve supply FDL
Tibial nerve L5, S1,S2
Proximal attachment Tibialis Anterior
Proximal two thirds of the lateral surface of the tibia and the adjoining part of the interosseous membrane
Distal attachment Tibialis Anterior
Medial side of medial cuneiform and base of the first metatarsal
Nerve supply Tibialis Anterior
Deep Peroneal Nerve L4,L5, S1
Proximal attachment Flexor Hallucis Longus
Lateral aspect of the lower two thirds of the posterior surface of the fibula
Distal attachment Flexor Hallucis Longus
Plantar surface of base of distal phalanx of the great toe

Tibial Nerve S1, S2
