Pronator Teres (superficial)
Origin - Medial Epicondyle of humerus and coronoid process of the ulna
Insertion - Lateral radius distal to the insertion of the supinator muscle
Innervation - Median Nerve
Action - Pronation
Flexor Carpi Radialis (superficial)
Origin - Medial Epicondyle of humerus
Insertion - Base of the 2nd and 3rd metacarpals
Innervation - Median Nerve
Action - Flexion and adduction of the wrist
Palmaris Longus (superficial)
Only present in 85% of people)
Origin - Medial Epicondyle of humerus
Insertion - Palmer aponeurosis and flexor retinaculum
Innervation - Median Nerve
Action - Flexion of the wrist
Flexor carpi ulnaris
Origin - Medial Epicondyle of humerus
Insertion - Pisiform, hook of hamate and base of 5th metacarpal
Innervation - Ulnar Nerve
Action - Flexion and adduction of the wrist
Flexor Digitorum Superficialis (medium)
Origin - Medial Epicondyle of humerus and middle third of the radius
Insertion - Middle phalanges of 2nd-5th digits (tendons pass under the flexor retinaculum)
Innervation - Median Nerve
Action - Flexion of wrist, metacarpophalageal and proximal interphalangeal joints of digits 2-5
Flexor pollicis Longus (deep)
Origin - Interosseous membrane and anterior surface of the radius
Insertion - Palmer surface of the distal phalanx of the first digit
Innervation - Median Nerve
Action - Flexion of the first metacarpophalangeal and interphalangeal joint
Flexor digitorum profundus (deep)
Origin - Anterior and medial border of the ulna and interosseous membrane
Insertion - Base and palmer surfaces of the distal phalanges of the 2nd -5th digit
Innervation - Median and Ulnar Nerve
Action - Flexion of the wrist and all joints of digits 2-5
Pronator quadratus (deep)
Origin - Anterior surface of the distal ulna
Insertion - Anterior surface of the distal radius
Innervation - Median Nerve
Action - Pronation
